A surprise weekend adventure

I am slowly learning that in the Navy last-minute changes should be expected. Most of the time this is not so fun. For example:

- When Adam was supposed to take his final oral board to graduate from prototype in New York back in October only to have all training cancelled half an hour before his board was scheduled (which meant no test, and us having to stay an extra two months)

- Or how about the same day, I am overseeing a move of all our belongings to the base in Bangor, WA (where we'll be stationed soon!). The packers box everything up, only to have Adam return home with the news that we will not be leaving New York anytime soon. Alas, our stuff bids us adieu anyway. Cue two fun months in an empty apartment.

Fortunately not all last minute news is bad. We found out shortly after arriving in Connecticut that Adam would be getting a four-day weekend for Martin Luther King Day. We take full advantage of those windfalls! We booked a last-minute flight down to Orlando to visit Adam's parents and go to Disneyworld! Woo hoo! Here are some shots from a fun weekend in the world of Disney.

What harsh, oppressive sunlight!

Checking out Epcot with baby in tow.

What a serious little face. :)

Sampling a little Asian cuisine.

Showing off our super-cool 3D glasses!

Elena is not so much a fan of them.

Setting out for a second day

Look at those giant blue eyes!

The train with Grampa and Grandma was
Elena's favorite ride.

Too short...

This is how Elena spent most of her time
in the magical world of Disney.

She's definitely going to remember being here.

"It's a small world after all..."

Finishing off the night with a bang!
Elena loved the fireworks!

Preparation for when she's 6'5"

Hanging poolside back at home.

Flying baby!

Mmm... time for a snack.

You can't tell, but this was in the middle of a baby
raptor noise recital. She's loving the high octaves right now.

Learning how to sunbathe
