Nana's First Week

*This was all a month ago, and I'm so slow we're already onto our next family visitor.
Springtime really is such a beautiful time to visit Japan!  We took Uncle John out to see
shrines and views of Fuji today, but first... Nana and Papa.*

There's nothing like having family visit.  Especially when we're so far away, it's like having a little bit of home come to us.  Add a new baby to the mix, and having a Nana to take care of all of us was heaven.  :)
The girls couldn't wait to wake her up super early each morning, and we all enjoyed the relaxed pace of a week with few plans.

Claire at three weeks, checking out Nana for the first time.

Nana's first day here, St. Patrick's Day, we walked over to Mikasa park just off base
and had a sushi picnic during Adam's lunch break.  The corned beef came later...

Off to ballet

Couldn't help catching this moment;
Daddy and Elena praying after class for some less-than-nice girls.

Almost four weeks

Caught a little smile!

A gymnastics class started up on base, and Madeleine got picked in a lottery to be part of it.
And it happens to be in the building right next to our house!  I couldn't love that more.
Nana got to come for the first class.  We've always joked that our energetic Madeleine would
be a perfect fit for gymnastics, and so far she's having a blast.

We mostly stayed close to home during Marsha's first week.  Some parks, some shopping, and a lot of baby snuggling.  On Saturday we all went to the Children's Bicycle Park.  We've been a few times, but this was our first trip since Elena learned to ride without training wheels.  The girls love this park.  Tiny little streets to ride on, what could be more fun?!

Madeleine loving the training wheels section of the park.

Elena was determined to take the only purple bike
available, even though it was too big.  She loved riding out on the little streets.

My favorite part is the silly bikes.  :)

Marsha's second week, when Papa arrives, is in the next post.  Apologies for the picture overload,  I guess it's irresistible when grandparents are around!
