Last Thursday we celebrated Claire's baptism, in a very small and wonderfully intimate ceremony.
Her godparents Jamie and Elizabeth (friends from Chicago) were with us in spirit, but
we were blessed to have Nana and Papa stand in their place.
Claire decided to start the ceremony off with a bang.
Minutes after dressing her in the beautiful gown which has been present at generations of Frisch baptisms, Claire decided to have the largest diaper explosion of her life. Her blanket, my dress, the carpet, and of course... the gown. So much for robed in white. We rinsed it off, but then the poor girl was cold in a wet gown for the whole baptism. She was not too excited, but she certainly made a memorable day.
The baptism took place in the small chapel within our base chapel,
which just fit us and allowed the kids to wander without worry.
Our friend Vanessa kindly took pictures of the afternoon for us.
Afterwards we headed back to our house to be spoiled by Nana's cooking.
We were so glad Nick and Marsha were there to join us, as well as all of our friends here, and we certainly felt the community of our friends and family across the world.
Welcome to your new family, Claire Monica!
