We arrived in Seattle just in time to celebrate Elena's first Easter with the family. Adam's parents flew out and my brother Brian too (who had just gotten back from serving in Iraq), so it was really special to have the whole family all together again. We're so grateful Brian's home safe, and it looks like he won't be sent out again any time soon.
But deployments are just part of the Navy, and now they're part of Adam's job. As soon as we got here we started preparing for him to leave. The past few weeks were a whirlwind. In a way I'm glad to get his first deployment over with, but there's never a "best" time to live without your other half. We're lucky, though, it's only 10 weeks. There are a lot of people who have it much worse. I dropped Adam off on base Friday night, and they left Saturday morning. It's all still sinking in.
Here are a few pictures of our sailor, babe in arms. He's actually standing in our front yard, but more on that later too. :)

finally! another post. yay for being a military brat and understanding deployments and knowing what it's like to have daddy missing for a long period of time.
Bremerton, and yeah... it is nice having so many people out there who know what it's like to be a military family. I'm still learning all about it! :)
