On Saturday we went to the Tsukuihama Tourist Farm (I thought it was amusing that 'tourist' was part of the name, but it is a farm for visiting... so literally, an accurate description). Several of our friends took the train there, but we decided to drive and gamble on parking. Parking is often very expensive and limited, but luckily it was not an issue here; many of the other Japanese visitors also drove and just parked by the greenhouses. I practiced some mimery to get tickets for us, and then we all got to eat as many strawberries as we could for thirty minutes. They were delicious!
The plastic container Elena is holding was for the stems,
as well as a dipping sauce. I thought it tasted just like evaporated milk...
We all just got to roam around and pick whichever lovely strawberries called out to us.
In Madeleine's case, the ones only half red. :)
"It's too bright!"
The girls got extra cozy and made their own double stroller, haha!
We went out to lunch for yakiniku, which literally means grilled meat. There is a grill inset into the table, and you order a plate of thinly sliced meat (we had beef, pork, and squid) to grill yourself. Most people order vegetables, rice, and soup too, but we accidentally pointed at the wrong picture. Waiters are called by pushing a button on the table (which we discovered after waiting and waiting and waiting at a previous restaurant), so we called her back later and rounded out our meal. All in all, a lovely day!
